Brick stitch is the beadweaving stitch behind fringe earrings and small beaded shapes. A chart shows each bead as a small rectangle, in rows offset from one another. These nine cover a fringe earring, a five-petal flower and a stepped diamond. Each comes as a colour chart, a symbol chart for black-and-white printing, or a hand-coloured worksheet. Type a different shape and the same layout carries it.

  • a pair of fringe earrings
  • a small beaded flower
  • a pendant or charm shape
  • a first beadweaving project

Frequently asked questions

Why are the rows offset?
Each row sits half a bead from the one above, which is what makes the brick pattern hold together.
Is the earring finished as shown?
No. The chart shows the beads. The finished earring depends on your thread, bead size and ear wire.
Which style prints well?
The symbol chart, for black-and-white printing.

About toile

This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
