Charts of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac, for a classroom wall or for finding a birth year at the family table. The animals run in their order, from Rat to Pig, each with its name and its years. The year changes at the Lunar New Year, not on 1 January, so a birth in early January or February can belong to the year before. Type another variation, such as large print, and the same layout carries it.
- A classroom wall display
- A family table reference for birth years
- A worksheet for pupils to fill in
- A poster for a school or library
Frequently asked questions
- Why does my birth year not match the animal I was told?
- The zodiac year begins at the Lunar New Year, which falls between 21 January and 20 February, so a birth before that date belongs to the year before.
- Which animals are on the chart, and in what order?
- Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig, each with its Chinese character.
- What is the difference between the three styles?
- Flat icons uses bright vector animals on white, ink brush uses brush drawings with a red seal on cream, and classroom uses rounded cartoon animals with large labels.
- Can I fill in the chart for my family?
- Yes. The fill-in worksheet has an empty line under each animal for a family member born that year.
About toile
This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
