The sombrinha, the small umbrella of frevo, is carried by dancers at Carnaval in Pernambuco. These sheets show its coloured segments three ways: from directly above, open from the side with its fringe and hook handle, and as a row of seven hanging from a string. Dancers, teachers and party decorators use them to paint, print or cut the umbrella. Type a colour scheme, such as all red, and the design follows it.

  • a dancer's umbrella to paint
  • a classroom craft for Carnaval
  • a garland for a party
  • a cut-out parade decoration

Frequently asked questions

Which view should I choose?
The canopy from above shows the segments for painting. The open umbrella from the side shows the shape and fringe. The garland shows several in a row for decoration.
Can I print these as decorations?
Yes. Each design sits on a plain background. Cut out each umbrella along its outline.
What is the difference between the three styles?
Flat colour has bold shapes with thin outlines. Paper craft shows cut-paper edges and soft shadows. Folk painted has brush strokes and dotted trims.
Can I change the colours?
Yes. Type a colour scheme or a look, such as pastel. The design is drawn to the request, so check the colours before painting.

About toile

This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
