Ikat pattern: diamond, stripe, medallion in three colourways

Ikat — Small stepped motifs a few millimetres across in ranked rows, every edge feathered into the ground by a thread or two of bleed, the registration wandering slightly from row to row., ikat repeat, stepped motifs whose edges comb into feathery teeth where the dyed warp sits out of register, the weave visible under the dye, the registration wandering slightly, deep natural dye with a long feathered edge

Ikat is dyed before it is woven: threads bound and dyed in the hank so every edge comes off the loom feathered and slightly out of register. These nine hold a diamond motif, a striped motif and a medallion motif, always keeping that soft blur. Ask for a different colourway and the same feathered edge carries it.

Frequently asked questions

What size do these print at?
Each ikat field is a seamless repeat at A3 proportions, printing clean at A4 or scaling to fabric yardage.
Can I get a different colourway?
Yes — name any colour combination, and the same feathered, slightly blurred edge renders it.
What's the difference between the three motifs?
Diamond keeps a repeating diamond figure; stripe runs the blurred bands as vertical stripes; medallion sets a round central figure inside the same feathered technique.
Is this a real ikat weaving technique or a printed simulation?
Ikat is a genuine resist-dye weaving technique; this set renders its signature blur as a flat generated print, not a photographic scan of actual hand-dyed cloth — a hard-edged version would not be honest ikat.

About toile

This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
