Lippan is a mud-and-mirror relief from Kutch in Gujarat, made by shaping raised clay lines on a board and setting small mirrors into them. These nine show three designs: a round mandala, a peacock outline and a square wall panel in white and terracotta. Each is shown on a wall, flat on a board beside its clay and mirrors, and in close detail. Type another motif, such as an elephant, to ask for it.
- a relief wall piece for the living room
- a first practice board for a lippan project
- a festival decoration for Diwali
- a handmade gift for a family home
Frequently asked questions
- What do the nine pictures show?
- Three lippan designs, a round mandala, a peacock and a square wall panel, each shown hung on a wall, lying flat beside its tools and in close detail.
- Are these photos of real work?
- No. They are generated pictures of each design, not photographs of a particular maker's piece.
- Can I ask for a different subject?
- Yes. Type a subject such as an elephant, Ganesh or blue and gold. A typed subject is a request, not a promised result.
- What does the close detail show?
- The coiled clay lines and the pressed mirror edges filling the frame, with the far edge softly out of focus.
About toile
This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
