A name tracing worksheet lets a child learn to write their own name. Each page shows a name in dotted letters on handwriting lines: a first name, the same name in capitals, and a first and last name. Print one and leave a blank row at the foot for the child to write alone. Type a different name, or a twist such as a longer name, and the same three styles carry it.
- practice at home before a child starts school
- a preschool or nursery name activity
- a name page for a child's desk or school tray
- a first sheet for a child who is starting to write
Frequently asked questions
- What is on each page?
- Nine pages: one name in dotted letters on handwriting lines, in three readings: a first name, the name in capitals, and a first and last name.
- Can I use my child's own name?
- Yes, type the name as a direction. Check the spelling of the name on the page before you print it.
- What is the difference between the styles?
- Black ink is plain black lines for printing. Bright colour has red start dots, green arrows and coloured fills. Exercise book has pale blue lines and a red margin, like a school notebook.
About toile
This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
