Onam posters go up in schools, offices and shops in Kerala and in Malayali associations abroad, and they are shared on the phone as wishes. These nine show a pookalam of marigold and chethi flowers seen from above, a lit nilavilakku beside a banana leaf with a sadya, and three clay Thrikkakara Appan figures among flowers. Each poster letters its greeting. Type a different subject or wording, and the same three styles carry it.
- a school or office notice board for Onam
- a shop window poster for the festival
- a poster for a Malayali association event
- a wish image to share on a phone
Frequently asked questions
- What do the posters say?
- They letter Happy Onam or Onashamsakal, in the lettering of each style.
- What is a pookalam?
- A pookalam is a flower carpet laid on the floor at Onam. Here it is shown from above, in rings of marigold, chethi and thumba flowers.
- What is the difference between the styles?
- Flat vector uses bold shapes with no outlines. Kerala mural has thick outlines, flat pigment and ornamental borders. Watercolor is soft washes with brushed lettering.
- Can I change the text?
- Yes. Type the wording you want, such as Malayalam text. The result is a request, not a guaranteed spelling, so check it before you print.
About toile
This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
