Pre-writing worksheets are for children not yet ready for letters. They practise the strokes every letter is built from. One page runs bands of standing, sleeping and slanting lines and curves; another has dotted circles, pluses and crosses; a third is a wide dotted road from a rabbit to a carrot. Occupational therapists and nursery teachers use them before letter tracing. Type a stroke, such as wavy strokes, or a car track, and the same three styles carry it.
- an occupational therapy session
- a nursery readiness activity
- a home sheet for a child before letters
- a warm-up before tracing letters
Frequently asked questions
- Which strokes are on the page?
- Standing lines, sleeping lines, slanting lines and curves on the strokes page. Circles and crosses on the second page. A winding path on the third.
- Is this for children who cannot write letters yet?
- Yes. It is a pre-writing sheet, for the strokes that come before letters.
- Can I change the path or the strokes?
- Type a direction such as wavy strokes or a car track. It is a request, and the samples stay as shown.
About toile
This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
