Posters for Uttarayan, the Gujarati kite festival of 14 and 15 January, when rooftops in Ahmedabad and Surat fill with kites by day and tukkal lanterns rise at night. The nine show the rooftops and sky of the day, the lanterns after dark, and the food of the festival: undhiyu, jalebi and til chikki. Each carries the greeting in lettering. Type a different subject, such as a sunset sky, and the poster is made to that request.
- a poster for a society rooftop kite event
- a share image for the morning of Uttarayan
- a shop window notice for the festival
- a school display on Gujarati festivals
Frequently asked questions
- Which days do the posters cover?
- Uttarayan is held on 14 and 15 January; the set has day scenes of the rooftops and food, and night scenes of the lanterns.
- What is the difference between the three styles?
- Flat vector uses bold shapes edge to edge; gouache is opaque hand-painted brushwork; risograph is a two-ink print in pink and teal on cream paper.
- Which lettering is on the posters?
- Only the greeting, spelled as quoted; add the date or the place with your own text.
- Can I change the subject?
- Yes. Type a different subject or twist and the poster is made to that request; the nine samples stay as shown.
About toile
This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
