A balance sheet format is the layout that lists what a business owns and owes on one date. These nine show a company sheet with equity, liabilities and assets; a sole trader sheet with liabilities left and assets right; and a vertical sheet with a notes column. Only the Balance Sheet heading and total are lettered. Type a twist, such as blue header, and it is a request.

  • a year-end statement for a company
  • a sole trader's yearly accounts
  • a layout to rebuild in your own spreadsheet
  • a teaching page for an accounts class

Frequently asked questions

How does the company sheet differ from the sole trader sheet?
The company sheet has equity and liabilities above the assets. The sole trader sheet sets liabilities on the left and assets on the right.
Does the sheet add up for me?
No. The totals are marked lines, not calculated figures. Work the sums yourself or in your own spreadsheet.
Is the spreadsheet style an Excel file?
No. It is a picture of a spreadsheet-style grid, with cell borders and a shaded header row. It is not an Excel file.
What does the vertical sheet's notes column do?
It leaves a column beside the figures where you can write a note on each line.

About toile

This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
