Reading 3Trishul and lotus

Rangoli for the nine nights of Navratri, laid at the door or before the ghatasthapana kalash and copied in coloured powder or flower petals. Each design is seen from above on a plain floor. The three motifs are a pierced clay garbo lamp ringed with dandiya sticks, a brass kalash with a coconut and mango leaves, and the Goddess's trishul rising from a lotus with nine diyas. Type a different centre motif, such as a peacock, as the direction.

  • a doorstep design for the nine nights
  • a reference for a rangoli competition
  • a floor design for a home puja corner
  • a flower-petal design at the kalash

Frequently asked questions

Does a design show a deity?
No. The designs use the garbo lamp, the kalash and the trishul as objects; no figure of the Goddess is drawn.
What is the difference between the three styles?
Coloured powder is vivid grainy colour on a dark stone floor; flower petals shows each petal as a small shape on pale cement; Sanskar Bharti is freehand white loops and swirls over bright fills on dark slate.
Are the pictures of a finished floor?
They show the design alone, seen from above on a plain floor, with no people and no text.
Can I ask for a different centre motif?
Yes. Type the motif as a direction; the design follows it as a request, so the result may differ from the sample.

About toile

This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
