An origami box is folded from paper, with no glue and no scissors. These nine pictures draw three step by step: the traditional masu box, a star-shaped box opened from a preliminary base, and a rectangular box with a lid made from a second, slightly larger sheet. Each comes in the origami-book style, on two-tone paper and as a children's sheet. Type another box, such as a heart box or a gift box, and the numbered steps stay the same.
- a small box for sweets at a party
- a container for jewellery or buttons on a desk
- a gift box with a lid
- a folding lesson for older children
Frequently asked questions
- What do the nine pictures show?
- Step diagrams for a masu box, a star box and a box with a lid, each in the origami-book, two-tone and children's styles.
- Does the box with a lid need two sheets?
- Yes. The base and the lid are folded from two sheets, and the lid sheet is cut slightly larger so that it fits over the base.
- How many steps does the masu box take?
- Ten numbered panels fold the corners to the centre. The open box and its lid are drawn in the last panel.
- Can I ask for a different box shape?
- Yes, type a shape such as a triangle box. That is a request, and the box may not match the sample exactly.
About toile
This page is a showcase and a starting point: nine samples already rendered, three readings of the pack crossed with three styles, each shown at the size and ratio it was made for. Take any of them further on the wall with a few words, or ask for all nine again under your own direction; a sign-in keeps what you make, and it is free while Toile is new. The recipe behind each sample — the subject, the style, the palette, the framing — travels with the image rather than staying private to the render: it is in the alt text of every sample and in the page's own structured data, so a search engine reads the same handles a person would.
